Pediatric Physical Therapy
At Legacy Physical Therapy, we know that children aren’t just “small adults”—they have unique developmental needs, high energy, and a natural desire to play. Our Pediatric PT program is designed to be fun, engaging, and supportive, moving away from the impersonal feel of a standard clinic. We partner with families in Winchester and Hardinsburg to help children reach their full potential, whether they are hitting early milestones or recovering from a sports injury.
We evaluate the “whole child,” looking at everything from their physical strength and coordination to how they interact with their home and school environments. Our goal is to make therapy feel like play while achieving serious results.
Our Pediatric Focus Areas:
Developmental Milestones
If you have concerns about your child’s physical progress, we are here to help. We work with infants and toddlers who may be experiencing delays in rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking. By identifying root factors early, we can facilitate a quicker path to independent movement.
Torticollis & Plagiocephaly
For our youngest patients, we provide gentle, effective treatment for neck tightness (torticollis) and head shape concerns (plagiocephaly). We focus on manual techniques and “home stressors”—teaching parents positioning and play strategies to support their baby’s development outside of the clinic.
Sports Injuries & Coordination
For older children and “student-athletes,” we employ a sports medicine approach. We treat growth-plate injuries, Osgood-Schlatter disease, and general coordination issues. We focus on building a strong overall body condition to help them return to the field or playground safely and with confidence.
Neuromuscular & Genetic Conditions
We provide long-term, compassionate care for children with conditions like Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, or muscular dystrophy. We look at postural habits and functional mobility to ensure every child has the best possible tools to navigate their world.
